Editions Note: Colden's text was printed several times in various forms. Editions subsequent to the New York first edition of 1727 were expanded. They include: The history of the five Indian nations of Canada, which are dependent on the province of New-York in America, and are the barrier between the English and French in that part of the world ... (London 1747; considerably altered by the printer); an identical work with a new title page, naming it as the second edition, The history of the five Indian nations of Canada, : which are the barrier between the English and French in that part of the world ... (London, 1750); and a named third edition in two volumes, The history of the five Indian nations of Canada, : which are dependent on the province of New-York in America, and are the barrier between the English and French in that part of the world ... (London, 1755). A facsimile of the first edition also appeared in New York in 1866 as The history of the five Indian nations depending on the province of New-York.
